HAMPTON, VA. -- The Apprentice School baseball team finished a three-game weekend with a doubleheader sweep of Thomas Nelson CC 9-1 and 7-3 on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium.

The Builders added three more in the third as Johnson laced a single to right-center to score Fields who started the inning with a walk.  Chris Scarola then singled to left to score Chris Kennedy who doubled earlier and Johnson.

In the fourth, Fields tripled in Andrew Yonta and he scored on a Johnson single up the middle for a 9-0 advantage.

Sophomore Daniel Lutz earned his second win of the year allowing four hits and one run over seven innings and struck out nine.  Johnson went 3-for-3 with three BIs and Fields was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs to lead the 12-hit attack.

After giving up a pair of runs in the fifth, the Builders exploded for six-runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Run scoring hits from Johnson (double), Kennedy (single), Josh Tuck (single) mixed in with one run on a wild pitch and two groundouts put the Builders up 7-3.

Fields and Kennedy were 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI for the Builders.  Ethan Halberg picked up his third win, second of the weekend, allowing seven hits and striking out seven in the win.

The Builders will now face NCAA Divison III nationally-ranked Salisbury University at 2 pm on Tuesday in a single game at War Memorial Stadium.
