Castleton State Defeats Baseball Builders 7-3

HAMPTON, VA. -- Castleton State College closed out a three-game series with The Apprentice School by taking a 7-3 decision on Saturday morning at War Memorial Stadium.

The visitors scored a run in the first and fourth before the Builders garnered a run in their half of the fourth.  Josh Wilson singled in Chris Kennedy with the first run for the Builders to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Castleton State scored one more in the fifth and pushed four across in their half of the sixth to take a 7-1 lead.  Apprentice School scored a run in their half of the seventh as Dory Fields singled in Josh Tuck.  In the eighth, the Builders (9-5) scored another as Tuck singled in Ryan Wagner who earlier walked and advanced on a wild pitch.

Tuck, Kennedy and Wilson had two hits each for the Builders who hurt themselves leaving 13 runners on base. 

The Builders will now play their first road game of the season on Wednesday when they travel to Petersburg, Va. to face NCAA Division II Virginia State University in a 2 pm matchup.
