The Apprentice School baseball team returns to War Memorial Stadium on Wednesday afternoon when they host NCAA Division III top-ranked Christopher Newport University at 4 pm on Apprentice School & Christopher Newport Alumni Day.
The Builders enter the game with a 21-12 record and are currently ranked in the top five in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Coaches Poll. CNU is 35-4 with a game today at Gallaudet University and are currently ranked #1 in the latest D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25. This will be the first time that the baseball team has taken on a NCAA top-ranked opponent.
Prior to the game a tailgate reception will be held for Apprentice School and Christopher Newport alumni in the picnic area down the left field line. A menu of bar-b-que, sausages, hamburgers and the fixins will be served. For more information on the tailgate reception – click here.
