Sophomore pitcher Ethan Halberg was named on Tuesday as the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Co-Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 17.
Halberg, an outside machinist apprentice from Gloucester, Va., threw seven innings of four-hit ball on April 14 as the Apprentice School defeated Virginia Wesleyan College 12-2. He struck out six and allowed one run in his seven innings as the Builders defeated Virginia Wesleyan for the first time since 1996. On the year, Halberg is 3-2 with a 3.24 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 50 innings pitched.
The Builders return to the field on Wednesday afternoon when they host NCAA Division III top-ranked Christopher Newport University at 4 pm.
