Josh Tuck Named First Team All-State By Va. Sports Info. Directors

The 2011 Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State College Division baseball team was recently announced and the Apprentice School had one representative on the first team - senior short stop  Josh Tuck.

A coating specialist apprentice from Richmond, hit .386 for the year and topped the team in hits (59), doubles (17), slugging percentage (.536), second in on-base percentage (.457) and third in stolen bases (8). He had 18 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games while producing an 11-game hitting streak during the year.  Tuck was named to the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association All-American team prior to nationals in May.

With the honor, Tuck became the fifth first team selection for the Builders since 2000 as he joined Tony Brown (2001), Darrell Taylor (2005), Ryan Scott (2007) and Jonathan Dehoux (2009) as first team honorees.

The team encompasses the 27 non-NCAA Division I schools in the state of Virginia, including NAIA and USCAA members.
