HAMPTON, VA. – The Apprentice School baseball team swept a doubleheader on Saturday from Thomas Nelson CC winning the opener 17-5 and the nightcap 5-0.
In the opener, Devorn Lake was 2-for-5 and Chris Aldridge drove in three runs with a double as the Builders used an 11-run fourth inning to propel them to the 17-5 win. Senior David Sebera earned the win as the Builders benefitted from 17 walks by the Gators.
The nightcap saw four Builder pitchers combine for the two-hit shutout as the hosts put up four runs in the third inning. Jordan Cowles drove in a run with a double and Tim Moore was 2-for-3 for the Builders in the second game.
Apprentice School returns to action on Tuesday facing College of the Albemarle in a 5 pm start at War Memorial Stadium.
