Baseball Retains Top Ranking In USCAA Coaches Poll

The Apprentice School Baseball team retained its top-ranking in the latest U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Coaches Poll announced late Friday afternoon.  Coming off a 3-1 record this week, the Builders are currently 25-5 after losing 8-0 on Thursday to NCAA Division III 8th-ranked Christopher Newport University.

Apprentice School swept a doubleheader from Southern Virginia University 3-0 and 4-2 on March 30 and then took a wild 12-7 10-inning victory over Danville CC on Tuesday before falling to the Captains.

The Builders have a three-game week ahead of them starting on Tuesday in Petersburg when they'll face NCAA Division II Virginia State University at 2 pm.  On Wednesday, they'll travel to Elizabeth City, NC to face NJCAA rival College of the Albemarle at 4 pm.  They'll return to the friendly confines of War Memorial Stadium in Hampton on Thursday at 7 pm to face Bridgewater College as the Eagles were receiving votes in the latest D3baseball.com Top 25.
