BOXSCORE

GAME NOTES

  • The Builders jumped out quickly on starter Brandon Marsh as Trevin Wilson opened the game with a single and stole second before advancing to third on a wild pitch.  After one out, Chris Aldridge drove him in with a sacrifice fly.   Lake followed with a solo blast to put the Builders up 2-0.
  • The Dolphins tied the game in their half of the first inning as Cameron Horn walked and went to second on a sacrifice.  A Josh Howard single moved him to third before Alex Weaver scored him on a sacrifice fly to center.  Austin Lee then doubled to score Howard and tie the game.
  • Both teams were kept off the board over the next four innings before the Builders plated a run in the sixth.  With two outs, Mark Labrador doubled and Chris Scarola drew a walk to put runners at first and second.  Zach Harding followed with a run-scoring single to plate Labrador for a 3-2 lead.
  • In the seventh, Aldridge started with a single and went to third on a single by Lake.  Cody Seals then scored Aldridge with a sacrifice fly to go up 4-2.
  • Once again, the Builders scratched a run in the eighth as Labrador started with a single and went to second on a sacrifice by Scarola.  Harding reached on an error which allowed Labrador to score for a 5-2.
  • Lake put the final damage on the scoreboard in the ninth as he followed Aldridge's single with his second home run of the game for the 7-2 final.
  • David Sebera came in with one out in the seventh and two runners on before ending that threat with a fly out and a strikeout looking.  He earned his third save of the year as Ryland Edwards earned the win going 6.1 innings and allowing six hits, three strikeouts and two earned runs.
  • Aldridge, Labrador and Harding had two hits each to join Lake in the multi-hit club for the game.  The Builders out-hit the Dolphins 12-8.

BUILDER BITS

  • The 2-home run game from Lake was the third time in his career he has done that.  Lake has done it twice at Knobbs Creek Park  - almost two years to the day.  He did it as a sophomore on April 13, 2011 and then again on April 10, 2013.  Lake also pulled that feat at home against Kutztown on February 18, 2011.
  • With Sebera's save, the Builders have had seven saves through the first 32 games.  That is the most since 2007 when they set the school record with nine.
