For the third straight week, the Apprentice School baseball team sits atop of the latest U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association poll released on Friday afternoon.
Apprentice School (27-6) completed a 2-1 week as they lost to NCAA Division II Virginia State 6-4 on Tuesday and defeated NJCAA College of the Albemarle 7-2 on Wednesday. The week ended with their first win over a nationally-ranked team in five years as they defeated 28th-ranked Bridgewater College 14-2 at War Memorial Stadium on Thursday night.
Ave Maria University (FL) remains in second place as Selma University (AL) jumped up two spots into third. St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn (NY) and Clark State CC (OH) are tied for fourth place.
This week the Builders have a pair of games at War Memorial Stadium. On Wednesday they'll host Danville CC at 2 pm for a single game. Thursday afternoon they'll host NCAA Division III 8th-ranked Christopher Newport University at 4 pm.
