Builders Earn Top Seed For USCAA Small College World Series

USCAA Small College World Series Bracket

The Apprentice School baseball team learned on Monday afternoon that they are the top-seeded team for the 2013 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Small College World Series starting on May 6 in Butler, PA.

With the number one seed, the Builders are scheduled to play the final game of the six-game first day on May 6.  They'll face the winner of eighth-seeded St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn and ninth-seeded Briarcliffe College at 9 pm at Pullman Park.  Those teams will play game two of the day at 11 am on Monday.

Apprentice School (31-8) heads the 10-team field and returns to the baseball championships for the 14 straight year.  The Builders are three-time runner-ups (2005, 2008, 2012) and won the USCAA Championship in 2007.

The tournament field has nine of the top ten teams in the final regular season coaches poll as Clark State CC (OH) takes the second-seed.  Rounding out the top five are the University of Cincinnati-Clermont, Selma University (AL) and the tournament host Penn State Greater Allegheny.

You'll be able to follow live stats of the tournament by going through the USCAA Small College World Series tournament website.

The Builders will close out their regular season on Tuesday with Senior Day at 4:30 pm when they'll host Thomas Nelson CC at War Memorial Stadium.
