IN BRIEF: The Apprentice School swept a doubleheader on Tuesday from Danville CC winning the opener 5-4 and taking the nightcap 7-3.  Senior Chris Aldridge was 4-for-7 in the two games with two runs scored, while four others had a pair of hits in the doubleheader.  Sophomores Taylor Gomer and Kyle Clark each threw five innings to take the victories.

GAME 1: The Builders took advantage of three Danville errors to push five runs across in the first inning as Aldridge and senior Zach Harding had RBI singles in the bottom of the first.  Danville pushed four across in the top of the seventh as Ryne Sigmon drove in two with a single.

The Knights had runners on second and third with two outs as the Builders brought in closer Sam Massie who got a flyout to right field which ended the threat.

Javier Remigio had two hits for the Builders in that game as Gomer threw the first five innings to take the win.  The sophomore struck out three and allowed four hits for his first win of 2014.

GAME 2: The Knights scored first on a sacrifice fly from Jacob Kiser to score Sigmon who opened the game with a double.  The Builders matched that run in the bottom of the first as with one out Brock Harris walked and Aldridge followed with a double to move him to third.  Junior Christian Burton followed with a single through the right-side of the infield to score Harris.

In the second, the Builders scored an unearned run to take the 2-1 lead.  A two-run single from Darius Harris scored Burton and Mark Labrador as the Builders held a 5-1 lead after three.

Danville pushed a run across in the fourth, but the Builders answered with a two-spot in the bottom of the fifth as Harris drove in one with a single and an unearned run gave the hosts a 7-2 lead.

An unearned run in the top of the seventh for Danville was all that was left as the Builders took the twin bill from the Knights.
