IN BRIEF: Four Builders drove in a pair of runs each as the Apprentice School started its March schedule with a 12-3 win over Alfred State in a U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association matchup Saturday morning.

ON THE FIELD: The Builders got on the board quickly scoring three runs in the first inning as Trevin Wilson started with a walk and went to second on an errant pickoff attempt.  Brock Harris followed with a single to score him.  After Harris stole second and went to third on a wild pitch, Chris Aldridge drew a walk and Brian Belvin drove in Harris with a groundout.  Aldridge stole second and went to third on the groundout before scoring on a wild pitch.

Alfred State pushed two across in the top of the second on a fielders choice and the second run scored on a throwing error.

In the fourth, the Builders used a pair of RBI singles from Belvin and Lee Rossi pushed the advantage up to lead 9-2.  They tacked on two more in the sixth as Rossi drove in one with a sacrifice fly and Dudley drove in another with an infield single as the lead grew to 11-2.

Alfred State scored on a RBI single from Cullen Franz in the eighth to score Jordan Wheaton who doubled before him as the score was 11-3.  The Builders answered in the eighth as Ryan Hendrickson started with a walk and went to second on a walk to Dudley.  Cody Norris came to bat and drilled a single through the right side of the infield to score Hendrickson for the final run of the game.
