IN BRIEF: Freshman Javier Remigio drove in three runs going 3-for-4 as the Apprentice School rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Thomas Nelson CC 7-3 on Monday night at War Memorial Stadium.

ON THE FIELD

  • A pitcher's duel for the first three innings as Blake Wills and Ryland Edwards kept the teams scoreless.  Thomas Nelson cracked the board first as Wills drove in a pair of runs with a single down the left field line to highlight a three-run fourth to give the Gators a 3-0 lead.
  • The Builders started the comeback in the bottom of the fourth as after walks to Mark Labrador and Lee Rossi, Remigio ripped a single to left to score Labrador for a 3-1 deficit.
  • In the fifth, the Builders put a pair across as Brian Belvin walked and with two outs Labrador singled and Rossi reached on an error to load the bases.  Remigio followed with a shot to left center scoring Labrador and Belvin to tie the game 3-all.
  • Another two run inning for the Builders came in the sixth as with two outs, Chris Aldridge singled to left and scored on a triple to left by Belvin.  Christian Burton followed with a single up the middle to score Belvin for a 5-3 advantage.
  • In the eighth, the Builders put up another two spot as with two outs Belvin doubled to left center to score Brock Harris and he scored as Burton followed with a double of his own to give the hosts a 7-3 lead.
