Baseball Picks Up Game At Norfolk State Thursday Night

The Apprentice School baseball team has picked up a game before they leave this weekend for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Small College World Series in Springfield, Illinois.

On Thursday night, the Builders will travel to Marty L. Miller Field on the campus of Norfolk State University for a 6pm game against the NCAA Division I Spartans.  This will be the fourth meeting between the schools with Norfolk State holding a 3-1 advantage.  The game will be the first since Norfolk State went NCAA Division I in 1998.

This game will be a benefit for the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.  There will be no admission fee for "Baseball vs. Hunger," but fans will be asked to make either a $5 donation or bring canned good donation for the Food Bank.

The Builders are 26-11 after defeating Thomas Nelson Community College 3-1 on May 1.  Norfolk State enters the game with an 18-24 record after sweeping a three-game series with University of Maryland-Eastern Shore on May 3-4.
