IN BRIEF:  The Apprentice School gave head coach Bryan Cave a memorable 600^th career win on Friday night as Collin Wilber smacked a two-run walk-off home run with one out in the 11^th as the Builders defeated Virginia Wesleyan College 9-7 on Apprentice Athletic Club day.

HOW THEY SCORED

• In a game where the Builders never trailed, they got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first as with one out Mark Labrador singled and stole second before moving to third on a two-out single from Lee Rossi.  Christian Burton followed with a single to right to plate Labrador.
• The Marlins got that run back in the top of the second as Zach Bach opened with a double and went to third on a single from Josh Mason.  A groundout from Austin Gammon scored Bach to tie the game.
• The teams got into a trading runs pattern as the Builders scored two in the second on a two-run double from Brock Harris that scored Jordan Cowles and Wilber who had singled and reached on an error respectively. 
• VWC smashed two across in the top of the third on a two-run home run from Taylor Erby to tie the game.  In the bottom of the inning, the Builders answered with a pair of their own as Jacob Countiss doubled to left to score Burton who earlier singled.  Thomas Richardson later had a single to left to score Countiss to put the hosts back up 5-3.
• Following a scoreless fourth, the Marlins tied the game at 5-all with a two-run fifth on RBI singles from Justin Erby and Casey King.
• The Builders regained the advantage in the bottom of the sixth with a pair of runs as Brock Harris started with a triple to center and scored on a Labrador single.  A throwing error allowed Labrador to score later in the inning as the Builders took a 7-5 lead.
• The Marlins put two more across in the top of the eighth as Nik Milvo started the inning with a solo blast to right field.  A sacrifice fly from Brian Pfund later scored Randy Neisz who earlier singled to tie the game at 7-all.
• Apprentice School had chances in the ninth and tenth innings, but left runners stranded at third base.  In the 11^th, following a strikeout Countiss took the first pitch he saw back up the middle for a single.  Wilber followed by taking a 3-1 pitch deep over the left-field wall for his first walk-off home run and third blast of the season.

BEHIND THE BOXSCORE

• Sam Massie earned his third win on the year with a career-long 6.2 innings pitched and setting a career-best with 12 strikeouts. 
• Harris (3-for-6), Burton (3-for-5) and Countiss (3-for-6) topped the Builders at the plate as they had 15 hits on the afternoon.  Wilber and Harris drove in two runs each, while Labrador, Countiss and Wilber scored two apiece.
• Dylan Stoskus took the loss for the Marlins throwing 3.1 innings with four hits allowed and two strikeouts.  He was the last of seven pitchers used by the Marlins in the 11-inning game.

THE LAST TIME

The last time the Builders went at least 11 innings in a game was almost a year ago when they lost 4-3 at Virginia State University on April 11, 2014 in 11 innings.

USCAA RANKINGS

The latest USCAA Coaches Poll was released during the game and the Builders moved up one spot to seventh.  Illinois Tech took over the top-spot in the rankings.

600 WINS

The win put Cave into a distinct group as he joins 41 other Division III level coaches with 600 career wins.

The Builders travel to Harrisonburg, Va. on Tuesday to take on Eastern Mennonite University in a 4pm first-pitch.
