Countiss Named USCAA Player Of The Week

Sophomore infielder Jacob Countiss was named on Tuesday as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending May 5.

Countiss, a sheet metal  apprentice from New Kent, filled the scorebook in the only game for the Builders last week as he was 4-for-6 with a pair of doubles and a pair of two-run home runs as the Builders defeated Thomas Nelson CC 13-2.  He drove in four runs in the game and set a school record with 12 total bases in the contest.

He joins Sam Massie and Mark Labrador as previous USCAA award winners this season.  Apprentice School will close out its regular season on Thursday with a 2pm doubleheader at home against Thomas Nelson CC.
