Ryan Hendrickson Named First Team Academic All-District By CoSIDA

Apprentice School senior designated hitter Ryan Hendrickson was named on Thursday afternoon to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District I College Division team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.  His All-District selection puts him on the Capital One Academic All-American team ballot to be announced in June.

The teams are divided into eight districts and are separated by NCAA Division I, II, III and College Division which includes NAIA schools, two-year schools and independents.  To be recognized you must have had at least a 3.3 grade point average and be a key contributor to their team.  Schools from Maine to Mississippi are included in College Division District One.

Hendrickson is currently second on the team in batting average (.387), RBI (30) and tied for second in hits (46).  He had a 30-game streak of reaching base snapped last month that stretched back into the 2014 season.  Hendrickson, a pipefitter apprentice from Yorktown, has had 12 multi-hit games including a seven-day stretch in mid March where he was 12-for-17 with eight RBI in five games.

This marks the 11th time since 2004 that a baseball player has earned Academic All-District honors.
