Baseball Set To Start 2017 Season

The Apprentice School baseball team will open its 2017 season the weekend of Feb. 11th-12th as they take on Penn State Mont Alto in a three game set.  The first game of the year will be at 1:00 PM on Feb. 11th with the second game at 3:00 PM.  The two teams will be back in action on Sunday at 12:00 PM. 

The Builders return seven Seniors, two Juniors, ten Sophomores, and welcome eight Freshman.  Junior Mike Brumfield and Seniors Jacob Countiss, Thomas Richardson, and Nick Morrisette look to lead the Builders back to the USCAA Nationals. 

The Builders will host 17 schools this season at the Historic War Memorial Stadium in Hampton.  The Builders will welcome NCAA Division II members Bloomsburg University, Kutztown University, Indiana University-PA, and Virginia State University.  The Builders will square off against NCAA Division III schools that include Castleton University, St. Vincent, Tufts University and the University of Mary Washington.  The schedule also includes fellow USCAA members Penn State Mont Alto, Maine-Presque Isle, Southern Maine CC, Christendom College and Bluefield State University.

This years United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Baseball Small College World Series will take place May 8th-12th at East Field Park in Glenn Falls, NY.  The tournament will follow a ten team double-elimination format with all games being seven innings with the exception of the Championship game(s) lasting nine innings.
