2019 Baseball Season Preview

The Apprentice Builder's Baseball team opens up the 2019 campaign on Wednesday, February 6th in a home contest against Paul D Camp Community College. First Pitch will be at 5:00 pm at War Memorial Stadium.

 The Builder's are coming off another terrific season last spring where they finished with an overall record of 34-14. The Builder's also finished as Runners-Up in the 2018 USCAA Small College World Series. Led once again by Bryan Cave, the 2018 USCAA Coach of the Year, expectations are high as the Builder's look to complete their goal of winning the USCAA Small College World Series in 2019.

On offense the Builder's are led by Jr. Maxwell Burcham. Last season, the 2018 USCAA Player of the Year, had a batting average of .393 and a slugging % of .653. Burcham also led the team in home runs, totalling 10 long bombs during the 2018 season.

The Builder's are also led by Sr. Cody Hendrickson. Hendrickson led the team and the conference with 72 hits last season. This was good for a .421 batting average. Hendrickson also led the team in RBI's, driving in 54 runs.

Last Season, the Builder's led the USCAA in hits (454), runs scored (337), and RBI's (284).

On the mound, the Builder's are led by the 1-2 punch of Sr. Luke Schanback and Sr. Paul Jones. Schanback started 13 games for the Builders, compiling a 9-3 record, while striking out 82 batters in 77.1 innings of work. Jones started 11 games, compiling a 6-2 record in 58 innings of work.

The Builder's will have 13 new additions to the team this season. With this group and a core of returning veterans, the Builder's look poised to have another incredible season.
