Builders Pick Up Opening Day Victory

LOCATION: War Memorial Stadium- Hampton, VA

SCORE: Paul D Camp 1 The Apprentice School 2

RECORD: Paul D Camp 0-1 The Apprentice School 1-0

STORY: The Builder's won their first game of the 2019 campaign, backed by a strong pitching performace from Paul Jones that would carry the Builders onto a 2-1 victory. The Builders struck first early when Maxwell Burcham homered in the 1st inning. Burcham deposited the 3-2 pitch deep over the left field fence for the first run of the 2019 season. In the 2nd inning, Brent Byrum singled to lead off the frame and would later come around to score on a Paul D Camp error.

These two runs were all that the Builders needed. Senior Paul Jones would go on to pitch 6 strong innings for the Builders, striking out 10 PDC batters. Things got nervewrecking in the 7th when the Hurricanes would put the tying and go ahead run on base, but Thomas Packert slammed the door by getting Vic Spence to strike out looking.
