Builders Win Game 2 of Hampton Roads Cup

LOCATION: War Memorial Stadium- Hampton VA

SCORE: Stratford 5 The Apprentice School 8

RECORD: Stratford 1-1 The Apprentice School 2-0

STORY: The Builders pick up their second win in as many days, as they defeat the Stratford Cardinals by a score of 8-5. Stratford would strike first and take an early 1-0 lead, but the Builders responded in the bottom of the second when Thomas Packert's clutch two out single would give the Builders an early 2-1 lead. The Builders added two more runs in the third on singles from Maxwell Burcham and Dalton Dye to lead 4-1. Stratford did not give up, the Cardinals tied the game at 4 a piece before the Builders offense exploded for 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th.

Once again, things got shaky in the 7th. The Cardinals scored one to make it 8-5 and loaded the bases but Thomas Packert would come in and strike out three straight batters to give the Builders the win. Brian Fritzinger picked up his first win of the season by coming in relief, and Thomas Packert earned his second save.
