Builders Battle their way to a 12-10 Win

LOCATION: War Memorial Stadium- Hampton VA

SCORE: Bryant and Stratton 10 The Apprentice School 12

RECORD: Bryant and Stratton 2-1 The Apprentice School 3-0

STORY: The Builders dug themselves into an early 6-0 hole, but there was no quit in their eyes tonight. With the help of a few hit by pitches, the Builders capitalized on a single from Gevin Nixon and a double from Maxwell Burcham. This would cut the Bobcats lead to 6-5. The Bobcats responded with two runs of their own to take an 8-5 lead. The game would go back and fourth as the Builders went on to score two runs in the 3rd and two runs in the 4th to take their first lead of the game at 9-8. The Builder's were disciplined at the plate all night long to force some key walks, and timely hitting from Gevin Nixon would help the Builders take the lead. The teams would trade the lead again in the top of the 5th as the Bobcats scored two runs to take a 10-9 lead. No surprise that the Builders quickly responded to tie the game at 10 in the bottom of the frame. Two runs in the 6th from Braden Lambert and Thomas Packert gave the Builders a 12-10 lead. Paul Jones picked up his second win of the season, coming in relief in the 6th and closing out the game in the 7th. The Builders are now 3-0 on the season and Head Coach Bryan Cave earned the 700th win of his coaching career.
