Six Run 1st Propels Builders Past Bobcats

IN BRIEF: On a cold and windy day, the Builders squared up against the Bryant and Stratton Bobcats for the 2nd time this season. Luke Schanback took the mound for the Builders this afternoon and picked up his 3rd win of the season as the Builders defeated Bryant and Stratton by a score of 10 to 4. The Builders took an earl 6 to 0 lead and never took their foot off of the gas. The Builders are now 17-7 on the season and are riding a 7 game win streak

 The Builders started this game by batting around the order in the bottom of the 1st. The Builders went for 8 singles in the inning. Cody Hendrickson singled through the right side scoring Lou Picolo and the Builders took a 1 to 0 lead. Brent Byrum would follow suit by hitting a single through the right side that scored Gevin Nixon. Thomas Packert was the next batter in the inning and his single would load the bases for the Builders. Three straight singles from Dalton Dye, Brian Fritzinger and Hunter Riss would establish a 6 to 0 Builder lead at the end of the 1st. The Builders added 1 run in the 3rd but were held scoreless until the 7th. In the 7th, the Builders loaded the bases and a single by Brian Fritzinger singled to left to bring two runners home. The Builders extended their lead to 10 to 4 as play entered the top of the 8th. 

Luke Schanback was on the mound for the Builders. Schanback has been reliable all season and today he scattered 10 hits, gave up 4 runs (2 earned) and struck out 7 batters in 6 innings of work. Tyler Winegrad would enter the game in the 7th and hold the Bobcats scoreless over the final three innings. Winegrad gave up no runs and struck out 4 batters.
