Builders Compete With Bobcats, Comeback to Win 11th Straight

IN BRIEF: Yesterday's rain was gone and the sun was out as the Builders won their 11th straight game. The Builders defeated the Bobcats of Bryant and Stratton by a score of 12-9. William Capps picked up the win in relief and the Builders improved to 21-7 on the season

After 2 innings of play, the Builders had taken a 4 to 0 lead and looked to be in control. Things went south in the top of the 3rd when the Bobcats scored 8 runs to take an 8 to 4 lead. The Bobcats would extend that lead to 9 to 4 in the 4th. The Builders did not panic and slowly began to chip away at the Bobcat lead. The Builders would get one back in the bottom of the 4th on a sac fly from Maxwell Burcham. Thomas Packert stayed hot at the plate by hitting a solo home run in the 5th and the Builders would cut the Bobcat lead to 9 to 6.

With two outs in the bottom of the 6th, the Builders would go to work. Gevin Nixon started the rally with a walk and Maxwell Burcham proceeded to hit a bomb to left center field to cut the lead to 9 to 8. Cody Hendrickson would then walk and Brent Byrum singled to center to keep the line moving. Packert would walk and Brian Fritzinger would get hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game at 9 a piece. James Williams would get the lead back for the Builders on a 2 RBI single. Braden Lambert then doubled down the left field line and 6 runs in the inning would result to a 12 to 9 Builder lead.

The Builders held the Bobcats scoreless after their 8 run 4th inning. William Capps, Tyler Winegrad, and Thomas Packert would combine to pitch 5 innings, giving up 3 hits, and 0 runs. Thomas Packert picked up his 6th save of the year and the Builder defeated Bryant and Stratton by a score of 12 to 9.
