Builders Earn #1 Seed at Small College World Series

Runners up in last years tournament, the Builders are hoping for different results this time around. With a 30-7 record and riding a 20 game win streak, the Builders have been ranked 1st in the USCAA all season long. The 30-7 record did not come easy though as the Builders implemented many comeback wins that have made this season even more remarkable. The Builders have a complete team with pitching, defense, and hitting. Seniors Luke Schanback and Paul Jones are both undefeated on the mound, and Tyler Winegrad and Thomas Packert have held down the back of the bullpen all season long. The Builders boast a deep lineup that can threaten opposing pitchers 1 through 9. Brent Byrum, Cody Hendrickson, and Maxwell Burcham have all driven in 40 or more runs. The Builders have a team batting average of .338.

The Builders first game will be on Monday, May 13th at 4:00 PM. They will face the winner of Penn State Mont Alto and Selma University. The Builders swept Penn State Mont Alto earlier this season but the Lions were no easy victory. The Builders are poised to make another run at the Small College World Series and you can follow along all week by keeping up with the gobuilders website and the @GoBuilderSports twitter.
