Builders drop first game in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, SC – Monday marked the start of 4 games the Apprentice Baseball team would play down in South Carolina this week.  First up was Neuman University from Pennsylvania and the Builders were looking to get the week started off on a positive note.  This game would also be the first game they have played away from the friendly confines of Historic War Memorial Stadium.

Maxwell Burcham and Braden Lambert each hit home runs for the Apprentice, getting their offense going.  Burcham also drove in 4 runs, while Thomas Packert scored 2 runs and hit the Builders lone double of the game.  Going into the bottom of the 9th inning, Apprentice was trailing 10-3, but they staged a comeback by putting 4 runs on the scoreboard.  However, it would not be enough as they fell to Neuman by a final score of 10-7.

The Builders will be back in action tomorrow morning as they play two games against Cabrini and Benedict.  First pitch is scheduled for 11:00am and then 2:00pm.  Stay tuned to www.gobuilders.com and Apprentice Athletics social media for scores and updates.
