Sophomore Marlon Lane was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after last Saturday's 25-21 loss at Frostburg state.
Lane, a maintenance electrician apprentice from Severn, Md., returned a blocked point-after attempt nearly 95 yards for a two-point conversion that gave the Builders a 21-19 advantage. That was the first blocked PAT attempt returned for a conversion in school history.
He makes the sixth Builder to win an ACFC award this year - and he is the first Special Teams honoree.
Apprentice School (2-7) closes out its 2010 season on Saturday as they host Webber International (6-4) in the 61st annual Oyster Bowl game at 1 pm at Apprentice Field.
