All-ACFC Team Announced - Cain Named Co-Offensive Player Of The Year

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – The 2010 All-Atlantic Central Football Conference team was announced on Thursday as 10 Builders were recognized by the league for their play this season.

Senior wide receiver Bryan Cain was a double-honoree as he earned his second straight first team honor at wide receiver.  He also was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Year in the conference making him the fifth straight special award honoree for the Builders in the ACFC.  Cain, a pipefitter apprentice from Baker, La., caught 55 passes for 773 yards and eight touchdowns on the season.

Senior defensive lineman James Lee capped his career with a first-team selection at defensive line.  Lee, an outside machinist apprentice from Richmond, Va., had been named to the second-team in each of the previous two seasons.  He finished the year with 45 tackles, 18 for a loss, six sacks along with three blocked kicks.

Freshman offensive lineman Michael Carta was named a first-team honoree at offensive line.  Carta, a pipefitter apprentice from Albany, Ga., started every game this year on the offensive line and graded out the highest of the linemen throughout the season.

Seven Builders were named to the second team: junior tight end Robert Gilmore, junior offensive lineman Larry Peterson, sophomore defensive lineman Kyell Collins, senior defensive lineman Andrew Balarabe, sophomore defensive back Marlon Lane, sophomore return specialist Louis Norwood and sophomore Johnathan Jones.

Two Builders were named honorable mention honorees in sophomore tight end Tyler Johnson and senior defensive back Daniel Richmond.
