Wesley Topples Builders 47-0

DOVER, DEL. – Senior quarterback Jason Sottilare was 14-of-18 for 222 yards and three touchdowns as the fifth-ranked Wesley Wolverines closed out their regular season with a 47-0 win over the Apprentice School at a windy Scott D. Miller Stadium.

The Apprentice School took the opening drive and went inside Wesley territory before turning the ball over on downs.  Wesley responded with being held on three plays forcing a punt.  The Wolverines then went wild scoring on their next seven possessions with six touchdowns, a field goal and a safety to take a 47-0 lead as Sottilare connected with Jeremiah Howe on a 45-yard scoring pass with 9:15 left in the third quarter.

In the second half, the Builders broke through the Wesley side of the field on their only possession of the third quarter taking the ball down to the Wolverine 41.  The drive stalled and the Builders turned the ball over on downs.

Apprentice School quarterback Paul Morgan threw for 50 yards and ran for 29 to account for 79 of the 93 yards of total offense for the Builders.  He connected with Rashawn Sims twice for 28 yards and Trevon Johnson once for 22.  Freshman Ralick Lockett was next in line on the rushing with 25 yards on 16 carries.

Defensively for the Builders, senior Jovan McCamey had a season-best 12 tackles along with junior Brock Bullock who set a career-best with his 12 tackles on Saturday.

The Builders will close out the 2012 season on November 10 hosting NAIA member Webber International for a 1 pm kickoff.
