The Apprentice School returns to the home field on Saturday at 1 pm when they'll host the Rams of Bluefield College in the annual Trades Day and Homecoming game.
This marks the first-ever football meeting between the schools. Bluefield, in its third year of having football, is a member of the NAIA Mid-South Conference.
The Rams are 0-2 after losing last week to NCAA Division I-AA Presbyterian College 69-14. Apprentice School enters 0-1 after a tough 23-19 loss to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy last Saturday.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Three Apprentice School players were recognized Friday morning by USA College Football as USCAA Players of the Week.
- Sophomore Leland Hamilton was named Linebacker of the Week after his nine tackle performance against USMMA.
- Freshman Caleb Heath was the Rookie of the Week as he was 7-for-10 for 88 yards and a touchdown in his collegiate debut.
- Senior Trevon Johnson was named the Offensive Player of the Week after he caught five passes for 104 yards and a touchdown against the Mariners.
