Newman/Wall Named USCAA Players Of The Week

The Apprentice School football team had two players honored by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) on Tuesday as Players Of The Week.  Senior Baxter Newman won the defense honor, while freshman Austin Wall earned special teams honor.

Newman, a senior sheet metal apprentice from Stephens City, Va., had eight tackles and two of those for a loss in the Builders 31-24 defeat to Catholic University.  Through three games, he had 16 tackles, two for a loss and a sack.

Wall, a freshman pipefitter apprentice from Suffolk, Va., converted all three of his extra-point attempts and hit a 29-yard field goal in the game.  The field goal was the first made by the Builders since September8, 2012.
