James Fields Named USCAA Player Of The Week

Apprentice School freshman defensive back James Fields was announced on Tuesday as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 27.

Fields, a welder apprentice from New Bern, NC, had a team-high eight tackles with seven solo stops and an interception as the Builders fell 32-16 to Bridgewater College.   As a team, the Builders held Bridgewater College to 11 yards rushing which equals the third lowest total a team has ran for against the Builders since 2000. Through three games for Fields, he has 17 tackles to go with two pass deflections and an interception.

This week, the Builders start a road swing as they head to Alfred, N.Y. to take on the Pioneers of Alfred State at noon.  These teams will play again on November 1 as the Builders will return to Apprentice Field also for a noon start.
