Football Visits Baltimore To Take On Coppin State Saturday

The Apprentice School football team continues its month away from Apprentice Field with a trip on Saturday to Baltimore, Md. to face Coppin State University (3-0) at 1 pm.

The series between the two teams has seen the Builders win both matchups.  In 2012, the Builders gave up the first touchdown of the game and exploded for a 60-7 win.  Last season, the Builders stopped a pair of fourth-quarter two-point conversions from the Eagles and held on for a 39-34 win.

Last week, the Builders fell 44-30 to Alfred State in its first United States Collegiate Athletic Association matchup.  Sophomore Joseph Hodge ran for a career-best 188 yards, while fellow sophomore Michael Roberts threw for 170 and one touchdown.  The 188 yards by Hodge is the eighth most in a single-game in the last 30 years.

Coppin State is topped by Janai Billips who leads the team in rushing averaging over 50 yards per game, while Murad Muhammed leads the team in tackles with 14.  Tim Brown has picked off two passes to lead the secondary for the Eagles.
