Ryan Ransom Named To Second Team VaSID All-State College Division Squad

Apprentice School sophomore defensive lineman Ryan Ransom was named on Tuesday to the second team All-State College Division squad by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID).  The College Division encompasses NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and USCAA schools.

Ransom, an insulator apprentice from Hayes, Va., was tied for third on the team in tackles with 61 and topped the team in tackles for loss with 13.  He had a season best 11 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss against Bluefield College and blocked a kick in the contest.  Ransom followed that with a nine-tackle game against Catholic University and matched that later in the year against Webber International University.

In the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, Ransom was ranked third in tackles for loss and tied for 11th in total tackles.

VaSID is comprised of sports information or athletics communications professionals from intercollegiate institutions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Membership is open to any individual affiliated with one of the state's institutions at the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, USCAA and community college level, provided that individual's area of responsibility lies within the realm of sports information.
