Hiner and Picolo earn USCAA Player of the Week Honors

Apprentice school sophomore running back Dustin Hiner was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for the week ending on September 29th.

Hiner, a rigger apprentice from Bedford, Va., paced the Bulders' offense with 194 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in a 56-21 loss to Washington & Lee University. Hiner averaged 6.9 yards on 28 carries, including a run that went for 45 yards.

Freshman wide receiver Lou Picolo was named the USCAA Special Teams Player of the Week. Picolo, an electician apprentice from Nashville, Ga., returned five kickoffs for 107 yards. He averaged 21.4 yards per return, with his longest of 49 yards helping to set up a Builders' touchdown.

The Builders return home this Saturday, October 3, for a 4 p.m. start against Fork Union Military Academy. The game marks Homecoming and Alumni Day for the Builders and will be the first meeting between the programs.
