Apprentice School Football Announces 2017 Schedule

2017 Football Schedule

The 2017 Apprentice School football schedule has been released which includes four home games and six away games.  The schedule includes three rematches from last season, a renewed rivalry from the 90's, three opponents that the Builders have not played since the early 2000's, and three games verse first time opponents. 

On September 2nd, the Builders will open the season at home against Greensboro College with a 2:00 pm kickoff.  The Pride finished the 2016 season with a 1-9 overall record and a 0-7 record in the USA South Atlantic Conference.  The Builders topped The Pride 42-22 in Greensboro last season. 

The following weekend the Builders will travel to Ferrum, VA to take on the Ferrum College Panthers on Saturday, September 9th at 1:00 pm.  This will be the first meeting since 1999.  The Panthers finished 2016 with a 6-4 overall record and a 4-3 conference record in the USA South.

On September 16th, the team will travel to Bridgewater, VA to take on the Bridgewater College Eagles with a kickoff time of 7:00 pm.  The Eagles finished 5-5 overall in 2016 with a conference record of 4-3 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  Last season the Builders beat the Eagles 26-23 at home.

The Builders return home on Saturday, September 23rd to host the Louisburg College Hurricanes at 2:00 pm.  The Hurricanes, which are an Independent program, finished with an overall record of 9-0 in 2016.  The Builders hosted Louisburg last season, falling to the Hurricanes 36-45. 

The month of October has the Buidlers on the road Saturday, October 7th at Southern Virginia from the NJAC and October 14th at first time opponent Hampden-Sydney from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. 

On October 21st, The Apprentice School Student Association's annual homecoming ceremony will take place as the Builders host Randolph-Macon College.  This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2003. 

The team will travel to Winchester, VA to take on Shenandoah University on Saturday, October 28th.  Shenandoah was 6-4 overall in 2016 with a conference record of 4-3 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. 

The month of November will see the Builders host Emory and Henry College on Saturday, November 4th at 1:00 pm for Senior Day.  The team will finish its 2017 season on the road in Troy, New York when they take on the Independent progrom from Hudson Valley Community College.
