Builders Rout Bison, Move to 2-0

IN BRIEF: After their last attempt to move to 2-0 was stalled due to inclement weather, the Builders were back home looking to defeat the Bison of Gallaudet University. The Bison entered this game with a record of 0-1 and the Builders with a record of 1-0. 

Gallaudet struck first with a first quarter touchdown run by RJ Randle, the kick failed and the Builders found themselves down by a score of 6-0. On their second drive of the game, the Builders struck pay dirt when Mason Tatum found Cruyff Fleurine for a 43 yard touchdown pass. The Builders would take a slim 7 to 6 lead. Gallaudet would strike back with a touchdown of their own to regain a 13 to 7 lead. 

After the two early scoring drives, the Builders figured out the Bison offense and kept the Bison off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game. The Builders defense held the Bison to 13 points and 205 total yards on the day, capping off another terrific defensive display that was highlighted by a 1st quarter safety. That safety would flip the switch and the Builders held all moment moving forward. 

A 7 play, 46 yard drive that was finished off by a 1 yard touchdown run by Trevon Hatch gave the Builders a 15 to 13 lead and began a run of 42 unanswered points. To close out the first half, Tatum found Justin Lund for a 15 yard touchdown and the Builders held a 22 to 13 lead headed to the half. 

In the third quarter, Kwaytavious Blackwell found the endzone on Mason Tatum's third passing touchdown of the game and extended the Builder lead to 28 to 13. Tatum would finish 21 of 38 with 235 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns. Tatum would tack on rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter.

The Builders would score again when Lawrence Reed found a hole and sprinted 25 yards down the sideline for the touchdown, extending the lead to 35 to 13. The scoring continued on Tatum's 8 yard touchdown run and finally Trevon Hatch's 1 yard run to finish off a huge 49 to 13 win. Hatch finished the day with 122 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.
