Paul White, a long-time high school coach in the Northern Neck area of the Peninsula, is in his second season as Head Football Coach for the Builders. White served as an assistant coach for the 2013 season with the Builders working with the linebackers.

In his first season as head coach, the Builders showed much improvement amassing the most yards on the ground in ten years (1,488), the most rushing touchdowns in seven years (16) and a defense that allowed 13 fewer touchdowns from 2013 to 2014.

White joins the full-time staff after being the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Mathews High School for seven years. His 2011 Blue Devils squad finished 10-2 and advanced to the Virginia Group A State Quarterfinals as he was named Tidewater District and Region A Division I Coach of the Year.

Prior to Mathews, he served as head coach at Gloucester High School and assistant coach at Ferrum College. He also had two stints as an assistant coach at Fork Union Military Academy.

White was a four-year letterman at Ferrum College where he was a starter on the 1988 and 1989 NCAA Division III South Region championship team.  He was a co-captain of the 1989 squad.

While at Ferrum he was the recipient of the Big Green Award as a junior which is given annually to the football player that best represents the team for Courage, Hustle and Desire. The award is given in memory of the Ferrum 8 who died in the Marshall University plane crash in 1970.

"This is a tremendous opportunity, and I am thankful to the Apprentice School staff and administration for believing in me as an individual and football coach," said White. "My goals are for our football program to represent the Apprentice School staff, academic instructors, craft instructors, and administration as a team of quality individuals that dedicate themselves to Huntington Ingalls and our football program."
