Men's Basketball Falls In 107-103 Shootout At W.V. Tech

 

MONTGOMERY, WV - Junior Antione Paige scored a career-high 27 points and senior Fred Spratley matched his career-high with 25 points as the Apprentice School fell 107-103 in a shootout with NAIA Division I West Virginia Institute of Technology at the Baist Athletic Center on Saturday.

The 103 points equals the third most points scored in a game for the Builders since 1989 and is the most points scored by the team in a loss.

The host Golden Bears held a 51-46 halftime advantage and held on as the Builders made a late run in the second half.  Both teams blistered the nets hitting over 50% from the field, and over 75% from the foul line.

Juniors Jason Arrington and Eric Joe had 19 points apiece for the Builders (4-2).  Joe was the leading rebounder for the Builders with nine, while Spratley followed with eight.  Arrington had a game-high seven steals for the Builders.  Sam Robinson was the game-high scorer for West Virginia Tech (6-2) with 34 points.
