Builders Streak Snapped In 83-58 Loss To Chowan

DURHAM, NC - Sophomore Isaih Harrison recorded his eighth double-double on the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while fellow sophomore Andre Henderson added 14 points and six rebounds as the Apprentice School lost 83-58 to Chowan University in the opening round of the BC Powder Classic at North Carolina Central University Friday night snapping a four-game winning streak.

The Hawks soared out to an 8-2 lead on a pair of Lando Morrison free throws with 13:36 left.  Apprentice School cut that deficit to 15-12 on a pair of free throws from Henderson with 8:47 left.  Chowan responded by closing the half on a 28-8 run for a 43-20 advantage at halftime on a Jerry Fairley 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer.  In the second half, the Builders never cut the lead lower than 21 points and trailed by as much as 31.

Apprentice School struggled from the floor in the first half shooting 6-of-31 from the floor (19.4%) while Chowan hit 14-of-27 (51.9%).  For the game, the Builders hit 20-of-66 (30.3%) while Chowan hit 29-of-57 (50.9%) .

Sophomore Tim Johnson added 10 points and five rebounds for the Builders who now will face the host Eagles in the 8 pm final game of the classic Saturday night.
