TAKOMA PARK, MD. - The Apprentice School men's basketball team made a late rally on Sunday afternoon outscoring Washington Adventist 13-5 in the last 1:49, but it was too late as the host Shock escaped with a 72-71 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association victory.

The hosts opened leading 8-7 in the first four minutes, but the Builders went on a 15-6 run over the next six minutes to hold a 22-14 advantage on a dunk from Eric Joe with 10:08 remaining.  Apprentice School had the lead throughout the remainder of the half, but saw the Shock close with a 5-0 run over the last 76 seconds of the half to cut the deficit to 36-34 on a Charles Brading 3-pointer.

In the second half, the Shock took advantage and used a 15-5 run over a nearly 6:30 span to take its largest lead at 61-52 on a Khalid Martin jumper with 7:15 remaining. The lead stayed around nine points until the last 1:49 when the Builders made their final run.  A 3-pointer from Andre Henderson at the horn brought the Builders close but short a point in a 72-71 loss.

Joe was the leading scorer for the Builders with 24 points, while Isaih Harrison added 21 points and 12 rebounds.  Joe Lyons chipped in with 11 points off the bench and Tim Johnson scored 10 points with nine rebounds.

The Builders will close their season on Wednesday night with a 6 pm tipoff at Hampton University's Holland Hall against University of District of Columbia.
