FLORENCE, S.C. - Freshman Chris Hearn scored a season-best 17 points to lead the Apprentice School on Saturday night as they fell 82-65 to NCAA Division II Francis Marion University.

The hosts jumped out to a 30-5 lead with 7:35 left in the opening half and never looked back as they extracted a little bit of revenge from a 72-67 overtime win by the Builders in Newport News on November 24.  Apprentice School was doomed missing 21 of its first 23 shots in that opening run of Francis Marion.

In the second half, the Builders cut a 33-point deficit down to 18 on the strength of a 15-0 run over a 3:23 span with Hearn pouring in 10 of his team-high 17 points in that run.  A three-point play by Hearn with 10:16 left made the margin 63-45. Francis Marion pushed the lead back to 79-52 with 3:59 left on a David Turner layup, but the Builders closed the game outscoring the hosts 13-3 to bring the deficit to 82-65.

Tevin Andrews added 14 points and Isaih Harrison chipped in 13 for the Builders (4-3) who now visit Laurinburg, NC for a 2 pm tip on Sunday with St. Andrews Presbyterian College.
