Men Finish Sweep In Florida With 79-62 Win At Florida Memorial

 

MIAMI, FLA. - Sophomore Isaih Harrison scored a career-high 31 points and hauled in a career-best 16 rebounds to lead three in double figures for The Apprentice School as they defeated Florida Memorial 79-62 to close out a two-game sweep in Miami on Saturday.

Harrison, whose previous career high in points was 27 on Friday night at Johnson & Wales, became the first Builder to score at least 30-points in a game since Eric Joe poured in 30 against Bluefield in December of 2008.

The Builders raced out to an early 21-9 lead with 11:29 left in the half and pushed that to a 43-27 halftime advantage.  Apprentice School held the hosts to 33.3% shooting from the floor in the first half (12-of-36), while they hit 14-of-32 (43.8%) and were 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the foul line.

In the second half, the Builders cooled a little from the floor (13-of-35 for 37.1%) while they hit 10-of-14 from the foul line (71.4%).  Florida Memorial (2-9) was 14-of-28 from the floor and 4-of-8 from 3-point range (50%) and hit 3-of-5 from the foul line (60%).  The Builders held a dominating 50-29 advantage on the boards, including 25-9 on the offensive glass.

The Builders (6-6) now will start the second half of the season on January 8 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma when they'll face Rhema Bible College in a 7:30 pm CST start.
