Men's Basketball Loses 2011 Opener 82-69 At Washington Adventist

TAKOMA PARK, MD. –After starting their season with 14 straight games on the road, the Apprentice School men's basketball team closed out that stretch on Saturday night with an 82-69 loss at NCAA Division II Washington Adventist University in a U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association matchup.

Junior Isaih Harrison and freshman Terrence Palmer scored 15 points apiece, while sophomore Tevin Andrews added 14.   Harrison and Andrews had double-doubles for Apprentice School adding 11 rebounds apiece as the Builders outrebounded the Shock 46-26.

Washington Adventist shot blistering from the floor in the first half as they raced out to a 46-28 halftime advantage.  They hit 50% from the floor (16-32) and had seven 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes.   They had five players in double figures paced by Daray Hill with 19 points coming off the bench to lead the Shock.

The Builders will hit the home hardwood on Friday night at 8 pm in the second night of the 2011 Martin Luther King Classic as they'll have a rematch with Barber-Scotia College.  Apprentice School (7-7) defeated Barber-Scotia 80-61 on December 3 in Concord, N.C.
