Men's Basketball Ends Season With 99-46 Win Over Berkeley College

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. -- The Apprentice School men's basketball team ended their 2010-11 season on Saturday afternoon with a convincing 99-46 win over Berkeley College, NJ at Apprentice Gym.

The Builders jumped out quickly scoring 10 of the first 12 points to take a 10-2 lead on a Tevin Andrews jumper with 16:39 left.  Berkeley made a small run cutting the deficit to 12-9 with 15:26 left on a Justin Savage jumper, but that was as close as the score got.

Apprentice School (12-13) responded with the next 10 points to take a 22-9 lead on a Duane Douglas jumper with 12:51 remaining.  Berkeley got the lead down to nine points twice, the final time on a Donovan Black tip-in with 11:15 left to trail 26-17.  From that point the Builders went on a 24-2 run over the next 9:08 to lead 50-19 on a Lewis Archer Dunk with 2:07 left.

Junior Isaih Harrison paced the Builders with 28 points and 11 rebounds for his 18th double-double on the year.  His 28 points helped him break the single-season points scored and scoring average records as he finished with 553 points and a 22.1 points per game average.  He broke the records set by Charles Holiday in the 2004-05 season.  This came a day after he broke the single-season rebounding record and he ended with 297 for an 11.7 average.

Joining him in double figures was Tevin Andrews with 15 points and six assists.  Harrison was topped on the boards today by Archer who hauled in a career-best 15.  The Builders out-rebounded the Knights 68-31 and set a school single-game record with those 68 rebounds.  Behind Archer and Harrison were Henry Wright and Douglas who hauled in nine boards apiece.
