Builders Blister Nets In 104-50 Win Over Mid-Atlantic Christian

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Isaih Harrison and Tevin Andrews scored 23 points apiece to lead four in double figures on Thursday night as the Apprentice School defeated Mid-Atlantic Christian University 104-50 .

The Mustangs raced out of the gate quickly as a Quincey Warren jumper with 17:59 left put the guests ahead 5-2.  Harrison's first bucket 47 seconds later started a 16-4 run over a span of 4:14 to put the Builders up 18-9 on a Tim Johnson layup with 12:58 left.  That run eventually grew to a 27-6 stretch of 9:36 as Andrews drained a 10-foot jumper to give the Builders a 29-11 lead.

In the second half, the hot shooting for the Builders continued as they blistered the nets at a 58.5% clip (24-of-41).  An early 19-5 run over a six minute span put the Builders up 76-33 on the second of consecutive jumpers from Tony Walton with 9:07 remaining.

For the game the Builders hit 57.7% from the floor (45-of-78) and were 9-of-11 from the foul line (81.8%).  Apprentice School out-rebound the Mustangs 51-21 as Harrison hauled in 13 while Duane Douglas was next with seven.  The Builders were unselfish with the ball as they set a school record with 36 assists as Johnnie Ferebee and Raymont Harden had five each.

Andrews had 23 points, six rebounds and four assists while Walton scored a season-high 12 points and Fenton chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds for the Apprentice School (14-5).  Mid-Atlantic Christian was paced by Warren with 22 points and four rebounds as he was 10-of-15 from the floor and the lone double figure scorer for MACU (5-14).

The Builders now travel to Buena Vista, Va. on Saturday for a big U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association matchup with the Knights of Southern Virginia.  SVU is the defending USCAA National Champions and have a 16-game home court winning streak on the line.
