Builders Toppled By Knights 90-59

BUENA VISTA, VA. – The Apprentice School men's basketball team traveled to Southern Virginia University and lost a 90-59 encounter with the defending USCAA National Champions at The Barn on Saturday.

Senior Isaih Harrison topped the Builders in scoring with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Tevin Andrews added 17 points and five blocked shots.  Andrews had 15 of his 17 in the first half which helped put him over 1,000 career points.  He became the seventh men's basketball player in the modern era to break 1,000 career points and did it on the first of consecutive dunks with 2:46 left in the half.

The Builders cut a 13-point early second half deficit on the strength of a 9-0 run in 2:50 as a Darrell Fenton layup brought the Builders to 46-42 with 13:27 left.  From there, the Knights went wild outscoring the Builders 17-2 over the next  3:26 as a Payton Brooks layup gave the hosts a 63-44 lead with 10:01 left.

Apprentice School returns home for a two-game homestand on February 5 when they take on NCAA Division II Washington Adventist University at 2 pm.  SVU will close out that homestand on February 11 when they come to Newport News for a 2 pm tip.
