Builders Take #10-Cabrini To Limit Before Falling 89-77 In OT at Marlin Tip-Off

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. – The Apprentice School men's team took NCAA Division III tenth-ranked Cabrini College to the wire on Friday night but fell 89-77 in overtime at the Marlin Tip-off in the Batten Center.

Apprentice School (2-1) will face St. Vincent College in Saturday's consolation game at 2 pm.  St. Vincent lost to the host Marlins 88-63 in the nightcap.

The Builders opened the game blistering from behind the arc going 8-for-15 in the first half as they jumped out to a 46-35 lead at the break.  They opened the second half on a 10-2 run to take a 55-37 lead on a Tevin Andrews 3-pointer with 18:27 left.  Cabrini chipped away and got back even with 5:15 left on a Arron Goodman 3-pointer at 65-all.  The lead changed hands three times over the last 5:15 as Darrell Fenton's jumper with 10 seconds left tied the game at 73 to force overtime.

In the extra session, the Cavaliers turned the tables on the Builders as they went 6-of-7 from the floor to outscore them 16-4 in the extra session.  Apprentice School was 2-for-9 from the floor in the overtime.

Andrews topped the Builders with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Fenton had 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
