UDC torched the nets hitting 53.6% from the field (30-of-56) but were an even hotter 65% (13-of-20) from 3-point range in the win.

Apprentice School opened the game on a high note jumping out to an 8-3 lead almost two minutes into the game on a layup from Latrone Demiel.  That lead grew to 21-13 on a Lance Darden 3-pointer with 11:44 left in the half.  UDC erupted from there going on a 20-7 run over the next 6:21 to lead 33-28 on a layup from Lenjo Kilo with 5:23 left.

A brief flurry from the Builders cut the deficit to 34-32 on a 3-pointer from Jay Melendez with 3:29 left, but the hosts ripped off the next eight points to lead 42-32 on a jumper from Omar Abbas with 1:55 left in the half.

In the second half, the teams traded buckets in the first 85 seconds as a layup from Melendez brought the Builders to 48-41 with 18:35 left.  UDC put the game away from there as they went on a 26-6 run over the next 6:02 to lead 74-47 on a jumper from Abbas with 12:33 left.

• Melendez was the leading scorer for the Builders with 14 points, five rebounds and five steals.
• Jamal Curry returned to the lineup and had his fifth double-double of the year with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
• The Builders were 26-of-73 from the floor (35.6%), 5-of-22 from 3-point land (22.7%) and 15-of-25 from the foul line (60%).  They were out-rebounded 44-37, but forced 22 UDC turnovers compared to 12 miscues for the Builders.
• UDC was topped by Abbas with 29 points and Kilo with 20.

The Builders are home on January 8 as they'll face University of Maine-Fort Kent in a 7 pm contest.  It'll be a doubleheader as the women's teams tangle at 5 pm.
