Men's Basketball Announces 2016-17 Schedule

The Apprentice School Builders announce their schedule for the 2016-17 season.  The team will compete in four tournaments and will host nine home contest this season.  The Builders will go up against fellow USCAA members Williamson Trade, Berkeley College, Warren Wilson, Penn State Beaver, Penn State Greater Allegheny, Johnson and Wales, and Mid-Atlantic Christian.  The team will also face off against Florida National University, Concordia College Alabama, and Washington Adventist all of whom made the USCAA National Basketball Championships last season.  The Builders travel to other Division III schools that will be in the hunt for tournament births which include Southern Virginia University, Bridgewater College, Eastern Mennonite, and Valley Forge University. 

The Builder schedule will also include some familiar events like the Martin Luther King Classic January 13-15 where the team will take on Florida National University and Valley Forge University.  This year the Builders square off against two NCAA Division II opponents that include Virginia State University and Chowan University.  To round out the schedule, the Builders will square off against Thomas Nelson CC and will conclude with Virginia University of Lynchburg for Senior Night. 

The Builders return three seniors, one junior, five sophomores, and welcome six freshman to the team.  Seniors, Zach Johnson who averaged 15.1 points and 7.8 rebound per game, Willie Bass who had a season high 16 blocks and 43 rebounds, along with Shaun Innis who averaged 4.0 points a game and pulled in a season high 69 rebounds look to lead the Builders to its 9th USCAA National Championship appearance.  Other key returners include Michael Gainey, Jalen Ruffin, William Wilcox and Christian Cooper

The Builders open the 2016-17 season at home on November 13th at 1:00 PM against Williamson College of the Trades.
